A Ballad is a poem that tells a story, which are often used in songs because of their rhyme. It is usually with foreshortened alternating four- and three-stress lines (‘ballad meter’) and simple repeating rhymes, and often with a refrain.Heres a Ballad poem for you:

 

Peek a boo- Peek a boo
with its sweet voice
sings the cuckoo

Hoping a tree to other,
paints the morning hue.
Never seems to be tired,
could hum all through

Try mocking it
sure, would return it back to you
But hell, such a lovely bird,
may also lose its virtue

For dumping its eggs,
other birds it would woo.
Hook onto its look alikes,
as brood parasiting it pursue

The crow knows nothing,
focuses on nesting work to do
Hatches the eggs and bring them up,
unaware hers are only a few

Only when they grow and sing
it makes out the cocooooo…
they break the mothers bond,
and, there ends the issue
