The short forms of poetry continues for A to Z April Challenge and Global Poetry Writing Month as i introduce today,
The term Epigram derives from the Greek word ‘epi-gramma’ meaning inscription or to inscribe. It is a short satirical and witty poem usually written as a couplet or quatrain but can also just be a one lined phrase with a brief and forceful remark and a funny ending. Let me know how i did this one 😉
It was spring, I met her then
Amen, they said, you are forgiven!

Ah, forms, I did that for my first A-Z, nostalgia 🙂 Great to see you are giving your theme a unique Indian twist too. That’s really brave, those forms are complex and strict!
Best of luck with the challenge,

Satirical and witty indeed. The way I read it, Spring had a lot to do with what came next. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

I like your ‘Epigram’, Uni. It has nice lines, Easter time maybe, a time for ‘forgivness’?
Glad to see that you are keeping along nicely, almost a week already! One fifth of the way to the end.
I too went shore today with a little three line Senryū and a title.

Oops, I meant going “short”, not “shore”. Sorry, I’ll blame it on Autocorrect. 🙂
