p

is derived from the pantun berkait, a series of interwoven quatrains. It has a set pattern within the poem of repeating lines throughout the poem. Listen,o listen, generous one

not any gossip, only fact I tell

that which cant be disputed by anyone

yes, such story I am here to sell

˜

Not any gossip, only fact I tell

that am no nawab or a prince

that’s my story I am here to sell

striped of all my innocence

˜

I am no nawab or a prince

but have plateful of sorrow and hate

Striped of all my innocence

here I am left to my fate

˜

I have plateful of sorrow and hate

that which cant be disputed by anyone

Here I am left to my fate

Listen,o listen,generous one
