A to Z Reflections 2016

A-to-Z Reflection [2016]

I am extemely glad on one hand that i could survive the  A to Z April Challengewhile on the other i had hiccups catching up with the Global Poetry Writing Month tooMy third year of AZ blogging was smoother than the previous ones as there were few lessons learnt from them. However, the theme gave the required twists; Lotttt of research was involved to keep up the quality of the posts and to bring in my poetic mind too.

Old is always gold 🙂 while my old friends did stand by my side all along, i had the opportunity to meet a variety of like minded bloggers this year who made this challenge even more interesting and i am already looking forward for the next year 😉

The A to Z forms of poetry at a glance:

Italian Sonnet

Madah in Monorhyme

Rhymes for kids

Ultra-Modern poetry

Zen poetry in Zig Zag form

Once again I am mixing 2 types into one form for the last day of  A to Z April Challenge and  Global Poetry Writing Month

Zen poetry combines the literary practice of poetry with the philosophical principles of ZenBuddhism. As such, a Zen poem makes a philosophical statement or observation through the use of descriptive words. Unlike other forms of poetry, Zen poets typically do not use a rhyme scheme but rather implement non-rhyming free verse.

I would like to present a Zig Zag Zen poem of Dr.PD Allen who wrote fascinating philosophical stuff and related them to science.

Hope that you have enjoyed my journey throughout this month and wish that our blog love blossoms and continues…..

Keep writing and See you on the other side of the sky 🙂

Revealing my theme for the A to Z blogging challenge 2016

A day late, but it’s still worth wishing all the lovely poets on World poetry day as poetry is for lifetime.

Now, defining poetry is complicated, maybe because the characteristic most central to the definition of poetry is its unwillingness to be defined, labeled, or nailed down.

What: It’s a feel good factor that a calendar day is earmarked by UNESCO for poets across the globe reminding the purpose of the day i.e.; to promote the reading, writing, publishing and teaching of poetry throughout the world.

Many writings are read and shared during this week at various platforms and poetry marathons and contests conducted as part of celebration.

Why: It is said that UNESCO recognizes in poetry its value as a symbol of the human spirit’s creativity because Poetry reaffirms our common humanity by revealing to us that individuals, everywhere in the world, share the same questions and feelings.

Poetry, being the mainstay of oral tradition and, over centuries, can communicate the innermost values of diverse cultures.

It reminds me of the beautiful expression in ‘The dead poets society’ which aptly describes why poetry:

“We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.”

And it gives me immense pleasure for revealing my theme for this years AtoZ blog challenge on such a day :):)

This gave me a push and showed my theme:

A to Z forms of poetry followed across the world would be my theme for this year.

Hope my third year of AZing also goes smooth as the last 2 years. Catch you on 1st .

Theme Reveal for the A to Z blogging challenge 2015

Yay!!! Its my second year here.I happened to be a newbie last year to the world of AZing, but thoroughly enjoyed it all through.I took a bigger challenge by picking up a theme in my first year itself with Work in the corporate and yes,i could successfully survive it 🙂 which raised my confidence to stick to a theme this year aswell. After a much smaller rat race which i tried to present you then, this year ,it is on a larger scale.

Life lessons– from birth to death would be my theme for this years’ AtoZ blog challenge.

I am trying to pick up a phrase or a statement from various renowened poets’ life and death poems and make it a wordplay from thereon.

Though i dont commit for a variety of forms this year, one thing I guarentee is ,it wouldnt be much of philosophy when i say lessons keeping them short and sweet.I may even present it from a childs view to make it more fun.So stay tuned.

See you on 1st .
